Sitting

# Chapter 337

Sitting sucks. I did it all day yesterday and I am going to do it all day today and likely tomorrow. The worst part is how it slows the brain and muddles the thought processes and prevents those hyper intense productivity hours that you are accustomed to having each day, from happening at all. Instead is a long long slow slog through a mental swamp of distractions and interruptions. No flow and slow productivity at best. Is this what the majority of the world experiences in the office each day?? No wonder we can’t produce something magical and wonderful under these conditions. Its a miracle we produce anything at all! I am in awe of people who can sit on their duff all day and make things work and function around the world. I would struggle mightily to do this, I am struggling mightily to just sit for a few days and let my knee start to function again.

There are fantastic ways to counter this malaise but all the ones I have mentally close by involve hours of sweating. And before you diss that approach, please remember that I generally produce as much work and better quality in three hours after one of those sweaty workouts, as I did all day long sitting in this chair for 16 hours yesterday. You decide which approach you want to take, but I will always choose the sweaty route - when I can. Of course I can’t right now and who knows how long before I can ride a bike or walk again. Never take your mobility for granted!
