The difficult things

# Chapter 298

There are always hard decisions. Make them. If you don’t, the regrets are far worse. Dig in deep and find that place inside of you that allows you to be more. I know you don’t really want to do this, but you should and you will. Is it that simple? No. But you can do it, one step at a time, this one morning, because tomorrow might not come for you or me, so today is all we have.

Perhaps the better question you could be asking yourself is, precisely why is this designated as a hard decision in your head? That made me stop and think. What are the factors or environments or people or timings or costs or conflicts or expectations or distances or irritants or trade offs, that make this a difficult decision? Something or somethings are making this difficult for you to make a choices and follow through with it in this situation. Have you ever stopped and analyzed it? Now is an excellent time to do so, and you may find yourself surprised by the outcome of your thinking and mental perusal of the anatomy of this difficult decision.

Perhaps you will discover that this is actually a difficult decision of the past, but no longer needs to remain in that category in the present or future, because stuff changes and life moves on and you can be a different person. Perhaps you discover that your reasons for thinking this is a really difficult decision are no longer valid, that the context as well as you have changed. Perhaps you will come to realize that your dread is rooted in some matter that now, is no longer all that important to you and you can let it go, make this decision and dread it no longer. Perhaps you will discover you were just wrong. Perhaps you will discover you were just incredibly correct and that you still don’t want to do this difficult thing. But at least this morning, you have looked at it well and good and now you know why this is a difficult thing. Proceed accordingly.
